Under the banner of Placement Readiness Series
The Placement Readiness Series has been conceived with a deep sense of responsibility toward the academic and professional growth of our students. Over the years, it has become increasingly clear that while students of Economics possess strong conceptual clarity and theoretical grounding, many struggle to translate this knowledge into practical, market-relevant skills during recruitment processes. This gap often leads to capable and deserving students falling short at critical stages of placements—not due to lack of potential, but due to limited exposure to industry expectations, professional tools, and real-world hiring dynamics.
This series is our sincere effort to respond to that challenge in a thoughtful, structured, and inclusive manner. It is not merely a set of workshops or talks, but a continuous support system designed to guide students from the classroom to the workplace. Through interactions with alumni and professionals, hands-on training in in-demand tools, and focused career support modules, the series aims to build confidence, clarity, and competence among students. It seeks to reassure them that their academic journey has real value and that, with the right guidance, they can successfully navigate competitive career landscapes.
We are undertaking this initiative because we believe that education should empower students beyond examinations—preparing them for meaningful careers and informed professional choices. By launching this series under the aegis of the AMU Economics Students’ Club, we also aim to strengthen the culture of mentorship, peer learning, and career consciousness within the Department. Ultimately, the Placement Readiness Series reflects our collective commitment to student welfare, academic relevance, and the long-term reputation of the Department as a space that nurtures not only scholars, but future professionals and leaders.
Workshops and Events under Placement Readiness Series
The session marked the beginning of a focused 10-day intensive workshop aimed at developing practical and research-oriented proficiency in Stata. Designed to bridge the gap between statistical theory and applied data analysis, the workshop emphasizes hands-on learning, real-world datasets, and reproducible research practices.
This initiative seeks to equip participants with essential analytical skills for academic research and data-driven professional roles, setting a strong and purposeful foundation for the sessions ahead.
Starting from 19th of January, 2026. Join the workshop, invest in your skills, and learn with purpose.
The session marked a meaningful and promising start to a thoughtfully designed series dedicated to strengthening students’ placement readiness, with enriching discussions centered on soft skills, effective communication, and holistic professional development.
We were privileged to host an esteemed panel of speakers—Prof. Shehroz Alam, Mr. Saad Hameed, Dr. Abdul Azeez N.P., Dr. Muzamil Mushtaq, and Dr. Md.
